• How to Enjoy Video Poker

    Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your home computer, using a net account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.

    The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

    The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

    After the player has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be given out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

    Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are agile enough to choose the most money-making game each instance.

    After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
