Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be enjoyed in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at home on your personal computer, through an Internet account. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. On this account it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. The game of Video Poker starts when the player puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be "dealt" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has chosen which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning bettors are able to choose the most money-making ones every instance.

As soon as the first round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which situation a further round is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
